The aliases of Cassia glauca are cassia japonica, yellow locust, mountain lentil, golden phoenix tree, golden medicine tree, tree locust, bean locust, and yellow locust. Native to West India, it is a soil and water conservation plant. It is cultivated in the southeastern provinces of my country, tropical Asia and Oceania. Large shrubs or small trees, young branches sparsely pubescent, later becoming glabrous, branchlets ribbed. The leaves are 15-30 cm long, with a clavicle-shaped gland between the two lowermost pairs of leaflets above the rachis. The petiole is 3.5-6.5 cm long. Oval or elliptical, 3.5-10 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, the top is round and obtuse, or with inconspicuous dimples, the base is broadly cuneate or nearly round, the upper part is green, and the lower part is floury white; the petioles are about 3 long mm. The racemes are born in the leaf axils at the upper part of the branches; the sepals are oval or round, ranging in size, 3-4 mm long for the exophytic ones, and 8 mm long for the endogenous ones; the petals are yellow or dark yellow, ovate or obovate, 2-2.5 cm long, with 5 veins; stamens 10, of which the lower 2 filaments are longer; ovary filiform, hairy. Pods flat, straight, band-shaped, dehiscent, 15-20 cm long, 12-18 mm wide, with a slender beak at the top, neck about 1.5 cm long, stalk 2.5-3 cm long; Cassia glauca seeds 20- 30 pieces. The flowering and fruiting period is almost year-round.
