How Ficus Altissima should be grown

Ficus Altissima is a sun-positive tree species, so it needs to be exposed to the sun to keep the tree vigorous and simple. However, it should be considered that the nutrient area of bonsai is limited and the growth of roots is restricted, so proper shade is also necessary at noon in midsummer from July to September.

The leaves of Ficus Altissima have strong transpiration and require a lot of water. Generally, they need to be watered twice a day. In midsummer, they should be watered before 9 o'clock in the morning and after 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Do not water at noon. The frequency of repotting depends on the size of the poor. Generally, large and medium-sized ones are repotted once every 3-4 years, and small ones can be repotted once every two years. At 26 degrees north latitude, you should also pay attention to cold protection in winter.
Generally, the old Ficus Altissima piles that go down the mountain are more than a few decades old. When they are dug out, the roots of the trees will be damaged to varying degrees, so they must be dealt with immediately. Before planting, according to the requirements of the shape, you can make a small cut, and then soak it in water for 2 to 3 days. If you can add some indole butyric acid solution, the effect will be better. Water enough water for the first planting, lightly press the root soil, and apply wax or white glue to the wound of the tree body or the cut branches.
The newly planted Ficus Altissima, the water evaporates quickly, and the stump is easy to die. Therefore, lightly drench the tree body with a fine-hole water bottle in the morning and evening. Keep the tree as moist as possible. If the sun is too strong, some sundries should be used to properly block it. If conditions permit, the pots can be placed in a semi-shade place for maintenance. When the new shoots are 20 to 30 cm long, they can be placed under normal sunlight for management.
