Magnolia grandiflora is a rare magnolia plant that blooms in summer in the north, and this is the only one I know. The Flora records that its flowering period is from May to June, and Magnolia grandiflora can bloom until July in Yantai.

Magnolia grandiflora is shaped like a lotus flower, white and fragrant, and it is very dazzling like huge night pearls held on the branches. People in Shanghai call it Guang Yulan, which is consistent with the Latin name. “grandiflora” means grandiflora. Compared with other flowers of the genus Magnolia, its flowers are indeed larger.
It is not easy to confuse Magnolia grandiflora and Magnolia because they are opened in different seasons. Magnolia blooms in early spring, first flowers and then leaves. Magnolia grandiflora is an evergreen tree that blooms in summer. The flowers are hidden in the green leaves, making it more clean.
